I do remember the part where Ah Koung had the operation and the baptism of both of them. Everytimes when Ah Koung and Ah Poh went away, they would gave us Foung Pow.
I do have lots of memories about Ah Poh. Ah Poh would teach us how to sow slippers and made paper boat before heading to the chinese pagode. We joined her to the chinese pagode (la Saline and close to Reine de la Paix). When she made the chinese wine, she would gave us the sweet rice mix with sugar to taste. Every day before going to school, we had to tell her that we are leaving and when we came back from school, she would wait for us downstair on the bench. When we talked creole among us, she would yelled at us. She looked after the litchie, mangoes, papaya and the grapes trees, she knew if someone picked a fruit from the trees. During the weekend, her friends came to play chinese cards and throwing wooden stick from a metal tin. Michele and myself slept with her when Ah Koung passed away until she got sick then she slept upstair so that Mum and Pap could look after her.

Sometimes it is good to share those childhood souvenirs. Thank you Sowchen for sharing the tales.
