NLP Mauritius Practitioner Group

I am so pleased that a NLP Practitioner group is now in place and have started its activity. Last Thursday a group of interested  twenty three persons got together to improve their skills to become better.

Is it a breakthrough in Mauritius to have an NLP practitioner group? As far as I know this is a first unless proved contrarily. I gathered that there have been various NLP training given by NLP trainers: <known to me> namely David Molden from the UK , other trainers from Singapore , and a trainer from France who I had commissioned many years ago. On a short training course, usually 2-3 days, awareness of NLP practices and principles may be achieved, knowledge transfer may occur but I believe that not much skills transfer may be achieved.

For my personal experience, I underwent the first time a total 300 hours of contact training in Bath with John Seymour in a total immersion process to build in some skills. It  lasted a whole month. My skills were further honed by the masters of NLP in Colorado with the oldest and most reputed NLP organisation.

As far as NLP knowledge is concerned is concerned, thanks to the generosity of Robert Dilts anybody can read, study and consult for free the NLP encyclopedia.

In my previous blog I stated the possible benefits of NLP skills.

This is a new journey for me and I am confident it will be a fruitful one. It was fantastic to see the collective learning oozing from the practitioner group. It reinforced my belief and conviction in the power of collective power in learning.

Neuro Linguistic Programming…

YOU ARE JOKING, RIGHT?

After all the religions and the voodoo and the freemasonry and the yogi and the magi… all we lacked on this island were this crazy bunch!

Next thing we’ll be having them neuro linguistically re-programming us on radio… selling us all the joys and wonders of NLP… just like the other crazy bunch those Freemasons who were here few months ago, trying to convince Us they are not crazy.

UNBELIEVABLE

yes it is as true as I am alive!
What do I have in common with Freemasons? For one I do not know much about much about their activity ( perhaps I should investigate further to increase my knowledge)and for 2. I would wish to share the benefits I had from the skills I have acquired that worked well for me.
Skeptics are people that motivate me further in my quest.
Have you ever belonged to a club that assembled people with a common interest and would get together to improve?
Try Toastmasters for communications, Rotary for leadership skills and detached act of generosity.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe you believe that!

No I haven’t, because such a “club” doesn’t exist! They exist to further the interests of those who found them!
Toastmasters and Rotary are both very good examples of that

Have you heard of Groupthink?
Indeed, that’s all it’s achieved, as that’s the objective of any “club”

Furthermore what I find absolutely unacceptable is that you don’t even see the moral and ethical objections raised.
How are you planning to handle all the legal questions which will arise?

I am sorry. Can you specify the moral and ethical objections raised…I am lost.
What are the legal questions raised arising from organizing a group of practitioner of NLP?
I miss this too. It would be helpful for me to understand. So please help.

I personally support NLP.
I works, and it is accepted worldwide. It’s really a wonderful managerial set of tools. In fact it can be used by anyone wishing to improve performance. It’s a breakthrough in the applications of Psychology and a crossover with other disciplines. We cannot criticize something just by speculating…we need to try first!

I first discovered NLP in 2002 through an Anthony Robbins book. It really fascinated me and the techniques in there are really very helpful. But I never practised NLP in a group. I may join the session if there’s any possibility.Where may I leave my contact details. Your email address is shown in the site?

With the greatest pleasure. I had the chance of scanning thru several books of Sue Knight and acquired some insights from Tad James specifically on Time lines.
Do drop me a line when you are back. The practice group is running steadily.
